Was your name sent to Mars ?

On March 16, 2020, at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, a sign honoring the "Send Your Name to Mars" campaign was installed on the Perseverance Mars rover. The names of 10,932,295 participants are etched on four fingernail-sized chips positioned in the upper-left corner of the banner (are you there ?) . The names of the finalist essays, as well as those of the 155 semifinalists in NASA's "Name the Rover" contest, were individually etched onto the chips using an electron beam.

On the next Mars mission in 2026, NASA will distribute millions of names from Earth. Anyone can join in on the fun and sign up for it now. They previously completed a similar campaign for the Perseverance rover, which collected over 10 million signatures. The names are etched onto "fingernail-sized chips" and placed on a placard attached to the craft.
